Tanya's Blog - Friday 2nd August 2013 I’m hoping Moviesta comes home Express delivery had a strong representation at the live Stewards’ Cup draw on Thursday with both Geoffrey Riddle and myself handed the responsibility of liaising with connections of runners. For good measure, Nick Luck was the compere. I’m sure the website editor feels the same; I felt really thrilled to be asked. Bryan Smart approached me last Thursday at Doncaster to do the honours. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank him and the owners for giving me the privilege to be part of the draw. It gave an insight into their excitement as well as their busy lives. I wish Free Zone all the best on Saturday. He came out rather late and the choice of stall 20 was made. On Friday Bryan and his team have to concentrate on the King George Stakes with Moviesta. I thought he had won at Newmarket, but the sharp incline just got him in the last few strides. Goodwood provides a stark contrast and is the complete opposite as its downhill all the way. There are three previous winners in the race and some real favourites, too. Borderlescott, Kingsgate Native and Masamah, yet it may be time for the youngsters to really shine – I see the predictor tips up the two three-year-olds and the four-year-old Tickled Pink. Moviesta travels into his races well, and in sprints he never seems rushed. The one big danger could well be Tickled Pink. Also if Moviesta does win watch the 16-1 about Heaven’s Guest contract as Moviesta prevailed by a head at Newmarket. Winning Express was rewarded by her fourth in the Qipco 1000 Guineas by going on to triumph at Warwick and many were amazed by her price thinking she ought to have been more prohibitive than 10-11 favourite. Lightly campaigned this season, she can assert her authority and win the Oak Tree Stakes. I’m tempted to weigh into Dance And Dance in the Betfred Mile, especially as he comes out of stall one. However you need to be sharp from the stalls otherwise the advantage is wasted and recently Dance And Dance has been far from sharp in that quarter. Also remember the temperature has been stifling hot drying the ground out to good to firm again. Possible rain is forecast but perhaps not enough to alter the going. Let’s hope the betting ring livens up as over the first three days it has been rather quiet.
Tanya’s Friday tips: 3.40 Goodwood: Moviesta at 9-1 with Paddy Power 4.50 Goodwood Winning Express at 5-2 with Bet Victor and Ladbrokes
