War Of Attrition

The Listener, a frequent visitor to Ireland, is one of three British raiders in the 3 mile event. The 10 year old grey was out of form last season, but his trainer Nick Mitchell is confident that the three time Grade 1 winning chaser can bounce back to winning ways this weekend.

Paul Nicholls, who won the race last year with the brilliant Kauto Star, is represented by the Aintree Grand National third My Will. The nine year old hasn’t won a race in nearly three years, but he is rated a 13-2 chance by Hills to break his losing streak tomorrow.

Last season's Letheby and Christopher Chase winner Joe Lively completes the overseas challenge..
.
Mouse Morris’ 2006 Gold Cup winner War Of Attrition and the Noel Meade trained Casey Jones are two other high profile candidates..

Natal and Trotsky complete the line up.

William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny commented. “Notre Pere’s victories in the Welsh National and the Guinness Gold Cup have established him as the top staying chaser in Ireland, and you’d have to say that he looks like the most likely winner”
