Christophe Soumillon Now Evens for Ballydoyle Job
12/11/10

Christophe Soumillon is now the Even-money favourite to become the next retained Ballydoyle jockey following another busy day of trading at William Hill. The bookies, who took a string of bets of up to £500, were offering odds of 5-4 about the Belgian jockey getting the job, but money forced them to go evens on Thursday afternoon.

Australian Steven Arnold, who received strong praise from Aidan O’Brien on Wednesday for his rides on the new Ballydoyle import - So You Think, was shortened from 20-1 to 12-1 for the coveted job. Interestingly, Hills also make So You Think a 12-1 shot for next year’s Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe.

Next Retained Ballydoyle Stable Jockey: (William Hill bet)

5-4 Christophe Soumillon, 7-2 Kieren Fallon, 4-1 Colm O'Donoghue, 8-1 Julien Leparoux, 10-1 Olivier Peslier, Ryan Moore, 12-1 Declan McDonogh, Fran Berry, Jamie Spencer, Steven Arnold, William Buick, 14-1 Richard Hughes, Seamus Heffernan, 16-1 Wayne Lordan, 20-1 Joseph O'Brien, Tom Queally, 25-1 Garrett Gomez, Paul Hanagan, 33-1 Kent Desormeaux, 50-1 Frankie Dettori

(Each way not available. Bets void if a new stable jockey isn’t announced by the end of 2011. Appointment must be confirmed by a Ballydoyle official statement)
