Solwhit 5-4 Favourite for Hatton’s Grace
23/11/10

Bookies William Hill have installed Solwhit as their 5-4 favourite for this Sunday’s Bar One Racing Hatton’s Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse. The Charles Byrnes trained six-year-old will be aiming to follow-up his recent victory in the Grade 1 Dobbins & Madigans Hurdle – with his seventh Grade 1 success.

Hurricane Fly, who got the better of Solwhit in the Rabobank Champion Hurdle at the Punchestown festival, is rated a 10-3 chance by Hills who also offer 6-1 about last year’s winner Oscar Dan Dan, while Donnas Palm and Voler La Vedette are both available at 8-1.

Peddlers Cross has been omitted from the betting – as he is almost certain to go for the Fighting Fifth at Newcastle on Saturday.

‘It’s great to see Ireland’s leading hurdlers clashing so early in the season,’ said William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny ‘Solwhit and Hurricane Fly look like the obvious candidates, although you certainly couldn’t rule out the chances of Oscar Dan Dan retaining his Hattons Grace crown.’
