Tony McCoy 7/2 to Score Sports Award Double
22/12/10
William Hill have slashed Tony McCoy’s odds of scoring an unprecedented sports award double from 7/1 to 7/2. The 36 year old from Moneyglass in County Antrim, who recently won the BBC Sports Personality of the year award, is now the clear second favourite to be crowned the 2010 RTÉ Sports Person of the year on Wednesday night.

US Open golf champion Graeme McDowell is 1/3 favourite with William Hill - who also offer 13/2 about World Champion boxer Katie Taylor, 12/1 about European swimming silver medallist Grainne Murphy, and 22/1 about European Championship 100m hurdle runner-up Derval O’Rourke.
Hills are also betting on the RTÉ Team of the year award. The bookies make the All Ireland Hurling champions Tipperary their 6/5 favourites – just ahead of the record breaking Men’s International Boxing team who are available at 13/8.
“Nobody has ever won both the RTÉ and BBC sports awards in the same year,’ said William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny, “however, punters seem to believe the Grand National winning jockey Tony McCoy is in with a chance of landing the dream double.”
NOTE: The winners will be selected by RTÉ sports journalists, editorial staff and broadcasters and will be announced live this Wednesday night on RTÉ.
