Joncol 7-4 Favourite for Rescheduled Hennessy
09/02/11

William Hill have installed Joncol as their 7-4 favourite for this Saturday’s rescheduled Hennessy Gold Cup at Leopardstown. The Paul Nolan trained eight-year-old heads a list of 11 possible contenders for the Grade 1 contest - which also includes the Willie Mullins duo Cooldine and Kempes.

The Paul Nicholls trained Pride Of Dulcott, who was the original favourite, was the only absentee the original line-up.

‘There isn’t too much strength in depth in the Irish staying chaser ranks at this moment,’ said Hills spokesman Tony Kenny ‘and in the absence of any big name British challengers, we’ve installed Joncol as our 7-4 favourite for the race.’

‘On the flip side, it looks like a much more competitive race than previous years.’

Hennessy Gold Cup (William Hill bet): 7-4 Joncol, 9-2 Money Trix, 5-1 Coodine, 13-2 Kempes, 7-1 The Listener, 11-1 China Rock, 12-1 Glencove Marina, 33-1 Let Yourself Go, Madison Du Berlais, 50-1 Trafford Lad – EW 1/5 1,2,3
