Tanya's Blog - 22nd January 2011 Bookmakers and going for a second bite of the cherry! After successfully taking on Kauto Star last week and getting rewarded, they are standing firm at 8-11 Master Minded. Add to that Barry Dennis has deemed the horse be his final Bismarck then the objective is to lay him. Many of you are taking stock and prefer to bet in other markets such as Betting without Master Minded, where both Mad Max and Crack Away Jack have been popular. Blue Square and sponsors Victor Chandler both offer a how far will Master Minded win by market and they may be worth investigating. I am giving one final chance to Kalahari King who if he turned up here with the form of this time last year could be a real contender for at least second place. I originally went for L’Accordioniste as my charity bet but Kerry texted me to tell me I had been changed to Kalahari King each-way. Alverstone has been popular in the betting markets in Ascot’s 1.50, it’s a good race and even the likes of Gold Reef aren’t out of it. With the abandonment of Haydock I’m a bit lost as I was hoping to see Wymott and tip him, King Fontaine was a bet also in the Peter Marsh, but all those monies have been refunded and now I’m not keen to reinvest at Ascot. Captain Kirkton being a non runner at 4.05 is also a body blow, and although I put up The Sawyer as a tip bit and you can’t ignore his record in January, I think I’m A Legend will run a big race, I hope so for all those who are backing Fistral Beach next week at Doncaster. Last but not least Ascot’s 2.55, Walkon is now a runner and priced around the 10-1 mark as he diverts from Haydock. Mover of the day is Notus De La Tour, and I so hope and pray he runs a solid race, the better half is a part-owner and he has been boxing-walking (the better half that is) since it was known he’ll be a probable runner last week. Now I believe I saw 7-1 last night but as we came off the air for The Morning Line Notus was 3-1 favourite!!! Now forgive me there are 13 other runners in the race Lough Derg has won it twice and third last year and loves Ascot. Sire Collonges could be thrown in. Frascati Park has solid form from Leicester I could go on. A watching brief for me with fingers tightly crossed for Notus. So sorry I haven’t got a selection today, I’m just on Kalahari King each-way and even that’s in the betting without Master Minded market.
