Tanya's Blog - Wednesday 2nd May 2012 A tremendous card at Kempton, with the bonus of free entry, what more do you want? Well there is an excellent Hunter Chase card this evening at Cheltenham too! Baddilini was a well-backed impressive winner at Windsor on racecourse debut, and looked so accomplished that he can secure a quick-fire double. I can’t believe Red Cadeaux isn’t even favourite, he is a different horse to the one who finished second to Cosmic Sun at the course back in April 2011 and remember today’s contest is over five furlongs further! Since then he has finished third in the Irish St Leger, second in a Melbourne Cup, and third in Hong Kong – all Group 1s. And he could still be improving, even at the age of six. He has won twice and finished second twice in six starts on the all-weather, he has to be on the day’s shortlist. I know I put up Thimaar on the Morning Line on Saturday and at that point I didn’t think Red Cadeaux was going to be a runner. Gusto romped away with the Spring Cup at Lingfield in March beating three of today’s rivals. He then confirmed his ability by just getting up near the line at Maisons-Laffitte on 16 April. He comes to Kempton on a five-timer and I’m hoping he can oblige. Later on this evening as a sneaky each-way, I am being drawn into Political Paddy at Kelso, for the Scottish track’s debut on . He loves the soft ground, always gives his all at the course and this is a step down from taking on Degas Art on 7 April at Carlisle and this is a better distance for him to run over. Today's selections: 2.00 Kempton Park: Baddilini 3.45 Kempton Park: Red Cadeaux 4.20 Kempton Park: Gusto
