Captain's Blog - 23rd April 2011

Good Morning everybody. I hope you are all enjoying the Bank Holiday Weekend. The weather looks set fair for what is a very busy day on and I will be taking the strain in the booth. My day will begin with presenting Mark Your Card and will end with recording racing replay from Nottingham at 8.30 pm this evening. Five meetings in total will keep us very busy during the day, but Nick Luck and Steve Mellish will be providing admirable assistance from Sandown in the afternoon and Lorna Fowler will be at Nottingham for us.

Make sure you join us from 12.30 for Mark Your Card and then settle back and let us guide you through the maze of punting opportunities that exist today. The Morning Line is on in the background with Nick Luck completely in charge, lets hope he has some energy and vocabulary left for the afternoon on . At least he is up and functioning which is more than I am at the moment. My daughter is struggling in the heat and had us up four or five times last night. Bless her she was born in January when we were all wearing four fleeces to go out so this sort of weather is completely alien to her. She will adjust fine but it may take her a while and as she gets her tempreature gauge right we are going to have some sleepless nights.

There is so much Racing to go at I am not sure where to start, and it is one of those days where it may just all pass in a blur without any concrete opinions having been formed. Sandown is the obvious place to start with the Bet365 Chase the feature event, but there is also some very good flat racing there today as well. In essence as far as the jumping is concerned it could be a good day for Ruby Walsh. He rides Sanctuaire, Meanus Dandy, King of the Night and Tataniano. All have excellent chances and as I always say he is the best in the business so do not be suprised if he comes out of today with a four timer. I need to get ready for work folks so will leave you now and will return on Tuesday. There will be no blog on Monday as it is our Wedding Anniversary and we are taking the little one to the seaside. All the best folks.
