Legatissimo collected her third Group One prize of the campaign with an emphatic performance at Leopardstown.

Wayne Lordan was always happy on the David Wachman-trained filly as Frankie Dettori towed the field along on Euro Charline.

Legatissimo (7-4 favourite) took up the running well over a furlong out and quickly stamped her authority.

French raider Cladocera plugged on gamely but could never get near the winner, who was two and a quarter lengths up at the line.

Ainippe (16-1) was third, while David O'Meara's Amazing Maria, a dual Group One scorer this term, did not settle and was well beaten.

Wachman said: "She's been improving all year. She seemed to travel very well, quicken well and put it to bed well.

"She seems to be getting fresh between her races. She hadn't run in about six weeks and we'll try to give her another six weeks and head to the Breeders' Cup.

"I'll have to talk the owners, but I'd like to go for the Filly and Mare Turf.

"She wants good ground and only barely tolerated that. I was very close to not running her today and drove here expecting to take her out. But when I walked it I got a nice surprise.

"She wants good ground, as does Gleneagles, and when it looked like he would run in the Champion if he got that ground she was always going to go for the fillies' race.

"We had no qualms about the mile, but the ground was definitely a worry. It was a very good performance.

"I'd have to put her at the top of the horses I have trained."

Trainer Ger Lyons was pleased the decision to supplement Ainippe was vindicated by finishing third in the Group One.

"I'm over the moon - delighted. It was money well spent."

Connections of Amazing Maria believe she was feeling the effects of a tough campaign.

"She was a little disappointing and has had a long hard season. The ground was maybe a bit tackier than her last three runs," said Jason Kelly, assistant to O'Meara.

"We'll take her home and she how she is before deciding where she goes next."
