Gifted Master
Gifted Master made all to win from old rival Waterloo Bridge.

The pair had clashed over seven furlongs as juveniles, Gifted Master winning by four and a half lengths from the front, and it was a virtually identical repeat as Hugo Palmer's gelding again proved a class apart.

Taken to the front early by Pat Smullen, who had earlier ridden Sky Kingdom to victory in the Wood Ditton, Gifted Master controlled things before quickening entering the dip, eventually running on to score by a comfortably three and a half lengths.

Waterloo Bridge made an encouraging return from 165 days off under Ryan Moore, holding on for second from thrice-raced maiden, Tigerwolf.

Palmer said: "It is huge relief as when they are odds-on like that you want it to be simple. He came back better than he went down where he stopped half-way and had a good think about the starting stalls.

"We will probably come back here now for the King Charles II Stakes in May on route to the Jersey. Where he goes after that I don't know. He is not ground dependent as he has won on rattling quick ground and dead ground.

"He is a very exciting horse and hopefully he will be a flagbearer for seasons to come."
